Tag tracking using Bluetooth
Ubudu provides a solution to track multiple objects or persons with low powered BLE tags (asset tracking)
Tags are small BLE emitting devices, powered with button cells which deliver a long battery life at a small cost. You can also use rechargeable batteries.
BLE tag tracking is relevant when you need to monitor location of multiple assets at the same time, through a centralized server which computes and broadcast positions. Position can be displayed on tools Ubudu provides, or interfaced with you own applications.
Simple tag architecture
The tag emits BLE packets that are retrieved by the anchors that are dispatched through the area. Each received packets are then fetched by a collector which sends them to a central calculating server. Note that:
- all anchors have to be connected to the collector
- all collectors have to be connected to the calculating server
Smart tag architecture
The anchors (simple BLE emiters) are dispatched through the area. The tag first centralizes received packets from the anchors and then sends an aggregation to the collector. The aggregations are then sent to a central calculating server.
- all anchors are independent and don't need to be connected to the collector
